I was getting a lot of stations 90-100 miles away. Now they will not come in and my close in stations do not come in as good. I wonder if my radio shack pre-amp has gone bad. The inside unit still has the light on. I have a wineguard 8200u antenna,or could there be another problem. I have ordered a new pre-amp, channel master 7777. I install antennas and this one has me stumped. I have not taken it down yet to check everything, but to save time I am going to hook the new amp up, near the bottom of the pole and see if that helps before I take down this monster. omg 7http://www.otatalk.com/images/smilies/driver.gif

If the Rat Shack in-line amp has gone belly up you will have to remove it or it will act as an attenuator on the coax, defeating the purpose of the new amp, good idea to mount the new one where you can reach it with out a ladder or dropping the mast, thats how I did all my installs.

Rat Shack’s amps are cheap stuff, I always kept away from that stuff, and the bad thing about in-line amps is that they are the first thing to go during an electrical storm.

And I assume you checked it's power injector?
