OK this is really weird: I installed an antenna in my attic. I immediately received about 45 channels. Channel 7, which is KGO, (ABC )in the SF Bay Area came in real nice on 7-1, 7-2,7-3.
The next day Channel 7 was gone. I repositoned the antenna in my attic, and bam, channel 7 and the other sub channels were back.
The next day Channel 7 is gone again. (all other channels, 2,5,9, etc are great)

WTF is going on? I can't figure this one out.

Will I have to get a ladder, climb into my attic, reposition the antenna, put the ladder back, every single time I want to watch channel 7?

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to add that there are some power lines a couple of blocks from my home. Also there is a small airport about 5 miles away.

Could these things be wreaking havoc on my antenna?

No those should not affect the signal, but you really should put the antenna outside on the roof as the roof it's self is attenuating the signal, if for some resion you cant put the antenna outside (no one in the US can tell you that you cant*) then try an inline TV signal amp, (available at radio shack) it should fix the problems.

What type of antenna do you have?

*See the FCC ruling on this here. http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html

Hi Terryl thanks for your response;

I've got a Wineguard HD9065P, that is the UHF part, It has a coupler so I added an RCA 7084 to catch VHF because channel 7 decided to go back to vhf channel 7 instead of staying on the uhf channel 24 where it had been for quite some time.

That set-up was working fine for awhile, then channel 7 went away, so I moved the whole set-up to a higher portion in my attic. That worked fine for a day, then channel 7 went away again.

Thanks for the info about being able to put it outside. I thought I could not do that. But, I still might look into the inline amp you suggested.

Thanks again!

OK here is a better idea, get an amplified combiner, it will solve most of your problems, take a look at this one.

Hey thanks for sending me over to that website. I've been looking at the channel master products lately. I wanted to purchase their new HD OTA DVR, that can pause, rewind, and record OTA without a subscription. But not before I got a solid signal.

Looks like Solid Signal has everything I'll need in one place.

Thanks again!
