Hello everyone, I have been playing with OTA reception for a few years now but am getting tired of having to adjust the set top indoor antenna all the time and would like to put up a rooftop antenna but can't make up my mind as to which one.
I live in Petawawa, ON and am with 30 kms of the Chalk River, Pembroke and Chapeau broadcast towers. I currently receive;

Ch3 - CBC Ottawa, moderate;
Ch5 - A Channel Ottawa, strong;
Ch 9 - CBC Ottawa (French) weak;
Ch11 - CBOT (French) weak;
Ch17- RFI (French) moderate:
Ch29 - TVO strong;
Ch47- CTV Ottawa, moderate.

I am thinking I would like a UHF/VHF multi directional antenna, digital is not available in the area yet but is suppose to be in a year or two. The wife does not want a large aerial on the roof of the house so I am contemplating a CH4221HD but am not sure it would be the best. Any suggestions as i am planning on using the J post and cables from the old bell Dish on the roof. the TV is in the basement.

They don’t make a multi directional TV antenna that works all that good, you would be better off with a standard hi gain VHF/UHF TV antenna and a rotor mounted on a 20 foot mast (the higher the better), that way you get them all.

Tell your wife I’ve done this for over 40 years, I know what works.
